Connect language-specific channels

Link channels such as #spanish, #english, and #japanese. Members write in the channel they know, while BabelBot sends the translated message to the other linked channels.

Channel bridges can mirror attachments and keep supported edits, source deletions, and reactions in sync for 30 days. Build simple pairs or larger language hubs without forcing everyone into one channel.

Translate in DMs, private channels, and other servers

Install BabelBot as a Discord user app to add Translate Text and Detect Language to your message menu. The private result is visible only to you.

This works in direct messages, private channels, and servers where BabelBot is not installed server-wide. User installation provides on-demand message actions. Automatic server translation still requires the server app.

Translate more than plain text

• Media translation handles supported images, PDFs up to 50 MB, video attachments, audio files, and Discord voice messages on Pro and higher.
• Live voice chat translation joins a voice channel and posts translated text in that channel's chat on Ultra and Founder Access. It does not provide spoken dubbing, and BabelBot does not retain voice recordings.
• Custom words keep server names, game terms, brand names, and community slang consistent on Pro and higher.

Get your first translation in about two minutes

1. Add BabelBot to your Discord server.
2. Choose at least one target language.
3. Choose replies, threads, or another delivery mode.
4. Send a short message in another language.

The guided setup checks that the first translation arrives. After that, use the dashboard to change languages, delivery modes, bridges, and channel rules.

Start free and upgrade when you need more

• Free: Up to 2 target languages and 1 bridge connection. New servers receive 100 AI translations, followed by 50 each UTC calendar month. An attributed Top.gg vote adds 100 AI translations once.
• Pro: Up to 5 target languages, 5 bridge connections, media translation, 25 custom words, and 5,000 AI translations each month.
• Ultra: Up to 10 target languages, unlimited bridge connections with up to 25 spokes per hub, media translation, 100 custom words, live voice chat translation, and 25,000 AI translations each month.
• Founder Access: One server with up to 10 target languages, unlimited bridge connections, media translation, 100 custom words, live voice chat translation, and unlimited AI translations.

If a Free, Pro, or Ultra server uses its monthly AI translations, supported plain-text messages can still translate with BabelBot's standard translation model. AI-only languages and features such as message actions, custom words, and media translation still need AI translations.

Admin control and clear data handling

Admins can disable translation by channel, skip languages their community already understands, ignore selected users, and decide when media or voice features are enabled.

For AI translation, BabelBot may use up to five recent human text messages from the same channel or thread as context. This recent context is kept for no more than 15 minutes. Read the Privacy Policy and Subprocessors and Data Details for current processing and retention information.
