Welcome to the AATC Chat Portal! This 🤖 Connects Chats Across Servers in One Seamless Hub!

🌐 AATC Chat Portal

Your gateway to conversations across Discord

Ever wished you could chat with people beyond the servers you already belong to? AATC Chat Portal connects Discord servers so their members can talk in one shared space, discover new conversations and meet people from across the Discord community.

It's free, takes about 30 seconds to set up, and works with the pictures, GIFs and videos you already love sharing.

✨ What it does

  • Cross-server chat. Messages from your portal channel appear in every connected server, and theirs appear in yours, with names, avatars and role colors.
  • Videos that play in the chat. Instagram and TikTok videos are shared as real videos wherever possible, and links from YouTube, X, Reddit, Bluesky and Pixiv get previews too, so members can watch without leaving Discord. Pictures, GIFs and files work as well.
  • Always in sync. Edits and deletes on recent messages carry over to every connected server.
  • Public rooms. Browse rooms with /portal_rooms, start one of your own, and ask to join others. Every join needs approval from the servers already in the room.
  • More ways to connect. Random matchmaking to meet someone new, and connection requests to invite other servers.
  • You stay in control. Hide your room from the public list, choose who in your server can create rooms, join them and approve requests, block images, GIFs, videos, voice, files or links (incoming, outgoing or both), turn connection requests on or off, and pick role colors.
  • Built-in safety. Spam protection, a banned-phrase filter, automatic NSFW scanning of images, videos and image links, and a 🚩 Report button under every message.
  • Actively developed. Recent updates added public rooms, playable Instagram and TikTok videos, safer link checks and more.

🚀 Set up in 30 seconds

  1. Add the bot with the button above.
  2. Pick a channel for the portal, such as #cross-chat. Cross-server chat moves fast, so avoid your main general chat.
  3. Give the bot permissions in that channel (listed below).
  4. An administrator runs /portal_setchannel in that channel. This is the one required step. It becomes the bot's home: commands work there, and connection requests arrive there. The bot tells you if a permission is missing.
  5. Connect to other servers from that channel:
    • /portal_rooms shows public rooms you can ask to join, and /portal_join <room> sends a join request that a server in the room approves.
    • /portal_create <room> starts a room of your own. It's listed publicly unless an admin hides it with /portal_listing off.
    • /portal_random pairs you with another server.
    • /portal_request sends a connection request to a few other servers (one per server per day).
  6. Say hello! Whatever you type in the connected channel reaches every server in the room.

Need the full guide later? Run /portal_setup. Want to see what you can use? Run /portal_help.

🔑 Permissions (and why)

In the portal channel the bot needs:

  • View Channel and Send Messages: to see and post in the channel.
  • Embed Links: messages from other servers appear as neat cards with the sender's name and picture.
  • Read Message History: so edits and replies work.
  • Manage Webhooks: to deliver messages from your connected servers.

Optional: Manage Messages, so the bot team can remove reported content.

❓ FAQ

Is it free? Yes.

Who can set it up? A server administrator runs the setup. After that, any member can create rooms and ask to join them, unless your admins limit it with /portal_access.

How does joining a room work? /portal_join <room> sends a request to the linked channel of every server in the room. By default anyone who can see it can approve or deny it, and the first click decides. Unanswered requests expire after 24 hours, and a server that was denied can ask again after 24 hours.

Can I keep my room private? Rooms are listed in /portal_rooms by default. An admin of any server in the room can hide it with /portal_listing off. Joining always needs approval, listed or not.

Can I limit who creates rooms or approves requests in my server? Yes. Admins can run /portal_access and choose anyone or admins for each.

Why can't I send another connection request? Each server can send one /portal_request per day, and it goes to a few randomly chosen servers. A server can also receive only a limited number per day.

Why does an Instagram link look like a plain link in my own server? Discord can't play Instagram links there. The bot shares your link with the connected servers so they can see it as a video where possible, and it leaves you a short note to let you know.

Someone posted something that breaks the rules. What do I do? Tap the 🚩 button under the message, pick a reason, and you're done. Reports go to the bot's moderation team.

What happens to my messages? Messages sent in a linked channel are shared with every server in that room. The bot keeps short-lived relay records (about 24 hours) so edits and deletes can sync, plus your server's settings such as linked channels, and any open join requests (they expire after 24 hours).

How do I leave? An administrator runs /portal_disconnect.
