unfurl

unfurl fixes the links people post so they actually embed. Someone drops a Twitter, Instagram or TikTok link, Discord shows a broken or empty preview, and unfurl replies with a version that works. No commands, no prefixes, nothing to set up. Add it and forget it.

Clean links, every time

• Tracking removed430+ tracking parameters stripped from every link, plus site-specific tracking on 740+ sites, including the parts that reveal who shared a link.
• Share links unrolledShare-sheet, app and shortened links (Reddit, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Spotify and 1,300+ shorteners) are followed to the real post before fixing.
• Shopping links cleanedAmazon, eBay and AliExpress links become clean product links. No affiliate tags, no session IDs.
• Paywalls handledArticles from 130+ paywalled news sites get an archive link so everyone in the chat can read along.
• Cleanup hintsWhen a link only needs cleaning, Discord's own preview stays and unfurl adds one small line under it with the clean link.
• Forwarded and silent messagesLinks in forwarded messages are fixed too, and messages sent with @silent stay silent.

For the whole server

• Repost detection/settings repost, off by default. A link already posted in the server gets a note with who posted it and when. Hashed fingerprints only, never the links, kept 1 to 90 days.
• Scam guard/settings scamguard, off by default. Known phishing and scam links get a public warning and a 🚨 reaction, or the message is removed with a note saying who posted it and why.
• Fix feed and curated channel/settings fixfeed, /settings curator. Mirror every fixed link into an archive channel, or let mods repost a message's links by reacting 📌.
• Replace mode/settings replace, off by default. unfurl deletes the original message and reposts its text as "@user wrote:" with the fixed links. Messages with files, stickers, polls or threads are never touched.
• Exclusions and bot messagesLeave certain roles or members alone (/settings exclude), or also fix links posted by other bots and webhooks (/settings bot-messages).
• Channels, platforms, reply styleWhitelist or blacklist channels, switch any platform or cleaning feature on or off, choose a new message or a threaded reply, set the undo timeout. All with /settings.

For you

• Fix on demand/uf fixes a link, /ufp does the same so only you see it, and Right-click → Apps → Fix links fixes every link in a message.
• Use it anywhereAdd unfurl to your account and /uf works in DMs, group chats and servers that don't have the bot.
• Opt out/optout stops unfurl from touching your links in every server, until you turn it back on. For a single link, prefix it with !.
• Old posts get a dateTwitter/X links older than a year show an "Originally posted" line, so nobody mistakes an old post for news.

Privacy

unfurl never stores your messages or the links in them. Links are fixed in memory and forgotten. The only data kept is your server's settings, plus hashed fingerprints if an admin turns on repost detection. Every optional feature is off until an admin turns it on. Full policy: unfurl.bot/privacy
