Your occupation is where your character begins. It gives you your first identity, your early stat direction, and the path your build naturally wants to follow.
But the real turning point comes later. At Level 10, classes open into Ascensions — stronger evolutions of your occupation that add powerful effects, new scaling, and a clearer role in combat over 40 in total!.
Ascensions are not just a title change. They are how your character starts becoming specialized. A simple occupation can turn into a party anchor, a burst threat, a scaling monster, a support engine, or something built around a very specific strategy.

The Maze is built around progressive infinite scaling. Your character does not stop mattering after a few upgrades. Permanent stat gains, daily rewards, gear, cards, astrology, pets, trophies, party upgrades, and ascension levels all build on top of each other.
Small choices become permanent advantages. Permanent advantages become deeper clears. Deeper clears lead to better rewards. Better rewards let you push even further.
You can progress alone, but the most dangerous content is designed around parties. A strong team is not just a group of high-stat players. It is a group of players whose classes, ascensions, and builds make each other better.
One player may reinforce the party’s defenses. Another may turn weapon scaling into damage. Another may gamble everything on lethal burst. Another may keep the group alive long enough to survive the next check.
The deeper you go, the more your team composition matters. The Maze rewards players who think about roles, timing, risk, and synergy.
