Benji Discord Bot

Benji is my own Discord bot project, developed by MarvTheJoshy.

I started this project because I needed certain features on my own Discord servers and on my friends’ servers to better support communities and individual members.

The bot is continuously being developed. Your feedback helps me find and fix bugs faster and improve existing features as well as develop new ones.

General Settings

Benji offers various basic settings and customization options, including:

• Set your own time zone
• Select your own language
• Assign dashboard permissions to moderators
• Make the dashboard visible to the public or keep it private
• Manually refresh dashboards and menus to fix potential errors or freezes
• Configure individual modules according to your own needs

The dashboard is designed to give you a simple overview of all available modules and their current status. Each module can be configured individually through its corresponding settings.

Available Features

Benji currently offers 8 different features across the categories Community, Social Media and Games.

Many of these features provide additional customization options, allowing you to configure them according to the needs of your own Discord server.

Some features are currently disabled while they are being further developed, tested and stabilized. This allows me to fix existing bugs and improve their reliability before making them fully available.

Feature 1: Streak System 🔥

The Streak System allows members to collect streaks through various activities, such as writing messages.

Three different modes are available:

Mode 1: Permanent Streaks

Collected streaks are retained permanently, even if a member becomes inactive for several days, weeks or even months.

Mode 2: Slow Loss

Members collect streaks, but lose one streak for every day of inactivity.

Mode 3: Classic Streak System

Members collect streaks, but lose all collected streaks immediately when they become inactive.

Streaks are updated daily and can also be used with automatic roles.

Feature 2: Reaction Logging 📝

The Reaction Logging module allows reactions and changes to reactions to be automatically recorded in a specified channel.

For example:

• A member reacts to a message with 😂.
• A member removes their reaction.
• A moderator removes reactions from a message.
• Older messages can also be scanned for existing reactions.

This allows you to keep track of reactions within your community without having to monitor everything manually.

Feature 3: Activity Summaries 📊

Activity Summaries provide regular reports about the activity of your Discord server.

The reports can include information such as:

• Number of messages sent
• Number of reactions
• Voice activity
• Member statistics
• Additional server activity data

These summaries can be generated at customizable intervals and provide a simple overview of how active your community is and how it develops over time.

Feature 4: Automatic Messages ✉️

The Automatic Messages module allows you to send scheduled messages automatically.

You can configure messages to be sent:

• At specific times
• At regular intervals
• In selected Discord channels

This can be useful for reminders, announcements, recurring information or other messages that should be sent automatically without requiring manual action.

Feature 5: Translation System 🌍

The Translation System allows messages to be automatically translated between different Discord channels.

For example:

• Members write in English in Channel A.
• Benji detects the message.
• The message is translated automatically.
• The translated version is sent to Channel B in German through a webhook.

The translation system currently uses Google services.

A switch to DeepL is planned for the future to potentially improve translation quality.

This module is currently disabled while further improvements and testing are being carried out.

Feature 6: Ticket System 🎫

The Ticket System allows you to create and manage support tickets directly through Discord.

It is designed as a modular system, allowing different ticket categories to be configured individually.

Depending on the configuration, you can create different ticket types for different purposes, such as:

• General support
• User-related issues
• Questions
• Applications
• Other individual requests

The ticket system also provides additional configuration options for individual categories.

The module is currently disabled while further development and testing are being carried out.

Feature 7: Twitter/X Integration 🐦

The Twitter/X module allows you to monitor selected Twitter/X accounts and automatically post new content into your Discord server.

When a monitored account publishes a new post:

• Benji detects the new post.
• The post and its link are sent to a selected Discord channel.
• Your community can automatically be notified.

The dashboard allows you to configure the monitored account and the corresponding Discord channel.

Currently, the module supports one Twitter/X account.

Feature 8: Counter / Number Sequence Game 🔢

The Number Sequence module is a small community game that allows members to count together in a Discord channel.

The basic idea is simple:

Members have to enter the numbers in the correct order while following the configured game rules.

For example:

• Members must not count twice in a row.
• Members must not enter an incorrect number.
• The sequence continues until somebody makes a mistake.

The system can also be used for more advanced challenges and mathematical tasks, depending on the selected game mode.

This makes it possible to turn a simple counting system into a small interactive community game.

Feature 9: Automatic Message Deletion 🗑️

The Automatic Message Deletion module allows you to automatically delete older messages from selected Discord channels.

You can configure individual deletion rules depending on your server's needs.

For example:

Select a specific Discord channel. Automatically remove messages after a defined period of time. Apply the system to text channels as well as text areas of voice channels. Choose whether pinned messages should be protected from automatic deletion.

This can be useful for channels that contain temporary information, commands, notifications or other messages that should not remain permanently.

Social Media Integration

Benji also contains modules designed to connect external social media platforms with your Discord server.

Currently, the Twitter/X integration is available for monitoring selected accounts and automatically sharing new posts with your community.

More social media integrations may be added in the future.

Continuous Development

Benji is still an actively developed project.

Some modules are already fully usable, while others are still being tested, improved or temporarily disabled.

My goal is to continuously improve the bot, add new features and make the configuration as simple and flexible as possible.
