What it plays

• SoundCloud — primary backend. Type a song name, paste a track URL, paste an artist's profile URL, queue a SoundCloud playlist.
• Spotify & Apple Music URLs — paste any track, album, or playlist link. The bot pulls metadata and bridges to SoundCloud for actual audio.
• Any direct audio URL — .mp3, .m4a, .aac, .ogg, .opus, .flac, .wav, HLS .m3u8. The bot probes the URL, validates it's real audio, and plays it with proper headers.
• Live radio — built-in search across 40,000+ stations from radio-browser.info. /radio bbc, /radio lofi, /radio classical, etc. Switching stations is instant — no queue wait, no reconnect.

YouTube isn't supported. Datacenter IPs get blocked, residential proxy services cost real money, and we'd rather build something that works than something that promises YouTube and silently fails half the time.

Every UI is built on Discord's Components V2 — the new message format Discord shipped this year. Now-playing cards, queue pagers, the radio picker, EQ bar graphs, and effect toggles all use it. No legacy embeds, no awkward button rows.

Log in with Discord. Get a real dashboard for every server you can manage.

• Player tab — now-playing card with thumbnail, progress bar, and the same controls you'd expect from a phone music app. Search bar that queues SoundCloud tracks or live radio stations without typing a single slash command.
• History tab — last 100 tracks per server, with one-click replay.
• Audio tab — sliders for the 10-band EQ, visual preset picker, and toggle chips for every effect. Saves persist server-side.
• Settings tab — default volume, max queue size, DJ role, announcement channel, auto-leave-when-idle, default loop mode.
• Admins tab — server owners can grant other members dashboard access.

Built with Next.js 14, React Aria for accessible dropdowns, and a JSON API at api.music.mgshosting.com. Auth is Discord OAuth — no separate password, no email signup.

Polished radio support

• Search across 40,000+ stations

Why we built it

Most popular music bots either disappeared, went paywalled, or got stuck behind YouTube's takedown wars. Our community kept asking what we recommended, and we kept not having a good answer. So we built one — designed around audio sources that actually work, with a Discord interface that feels like 2026.

Music by MGS Hosting is shipped by MGS Hosting, a small team that runs a free-tier Discord bot hosting platform. We hold ourselves to a simple bar: if it doesn't work reliably, we don't ship it.
