<u>**September 19, 2018**</u>: New commands have been added so users can specify which roles can manage tournaments! By default, users with manage server permissions can manage tournaments.

## How it works

Manage tournaments that your Discord members can join, as well as: 

* Bulk add members to the tournament as particants.
* Declare winners and set scores
* Participate in a tournament using your Discord username/avatar.
* And much more!

Prefixes: `!`, `?`, `t!`, `t?` or `@mention` the bot (e.g. `@botname [the command]`)

This bot uses the [Challonge API](https://challonge.com/) to manage tournaments.

## Commands

Commands that do not depend on a tournament to exist.

After running `!tourney create`, the below commands can be used for that tournament. Use `!current` to show its information, or to switch to another tournament as the "current" one. 
 
### Commands for the current tournament.

| **!reset** | Resets a tournament, clearing all of its scores and attachments. | `!reset` |
| **!winner** | Declare a user as a winner for their currently open match. Default scores are 1 (for winner) and 0 (for loser). | `!winner [@user]` |
| **!participate** | Participate in a tournament. If you are a tournament manager, you can tag a user to add them instead. | `!participate (optional @user1, @user2, ...)` |
| **!unparticipate** | Removes you from a tournament. If you are a tournament manager, you can tag a user to remove them instead. | `!unparticipate (optional @user)` |
| **!addmembers** | Adds all members from your server to the tournament. | `!addmembers` |
| **!addbots** | Adds bots to the tournament, if you want to do that for some reason. | `!addbots` |
| **!clear** | Clears a tournament of all participants. | `!clear` |
| **!seed** | Sets the seed of a participant in the tournament. Must be less or equal to the number of participants. | `!seed [@user] [number]` |
| **!swap** | Swaps the seed between two participants of the tournament. | `!swap [@user1] [@user2]` |
| **!status** | Shows your participant info (current rank, etc). Tag a user for their participant info instead. | `!status (optional @user)` |
| **!match** | Shows the next open match that you're in. Tag a user to see theirs instead. | `!match (optional @user)` |
| **!reopen** | Reopens the most recent match that was completed. Tag a user to reopen one of theirs instead. | `!reopen (optional @user)` |

### Additional Notes

To update fields with `!update`, use the field shown in the docs (shown in brackets) for `[field]` and a valid value. For example, if you want to update the tournament to use double elimination, run `!update tournament_type "double elimination"`. Keep in mind that any values with spaces need to be wrapped with double quotes.

Tournament Manager

Create tournaments that allow members on your Discord server to participate! Powered by Challonge.

## What does it do?

What if you could break down the `MANAGE_CHANNELS` permission into these?

`CREATE_CHANNELS`

`EDIT_CHANNELS`

`DELETE_CHANNELS`

That is what this bot does!

This bot can also

* Remove role(s) when a higher role is given. 
* Limit the number of roles a user can assign to themselves.

## Example

Let's say you have a friend with the role `verychatty`. You want to let them create their own channels so they can talk there instead.

But wait...Discord only has a `MANAGE_CHANNELS` permission for updating channels, meaning they also get to edit and delete them, too.

Instead of doing that, you decide to [add this bot to your server](https://discordapp.com/api/oauth2/authorize?client_id=468191417194381322&permissions=268435472&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2F206.81.4.56&scope=bot), grant the bot the `MANAGE_CHANNELS` permission, then run this command to allow your friend to *only* create channels.

`!channel add create verychatty`

Now your friend can run this command to create channels

`!channel create meme-shack "lookin' for the meme getaway"`

Now your friend can post all their dank memes in the `meme-shack` channel. However, they won't be able to delete or edit `meme-shack`. You can change that by running `!channel add edit verychatty` or `!channel add delete verychatty`.

If your friend starts spamming the server with a bunch of meme channels, you can remove their role from the "create channel" list by running this command.

`!channel remove create verychatty`

If you're unsure about what roles are configured with the bot, just run `!permcheck`.

## Notes

This bot only supports `MANAGE_CHANNELS` and `MANAGE_ROLES` (only roles themselves, not applying roles to a user). This might change in the future.

It is **strongly recommended** that you only give this bot `MANAGE_CHANNELS` and `MANAGE_ROLES` permission, as it doesn't need to be an admin.

A simple link shortener requiring no additional permissions.

## How to use it

Use `!e` to translate your message into Engrish.

* The image data itself needs to be a valid (i.e. changing file extension will not make it think it's an image).

* The image must be in a URL. Regular image uploads via Discord will not work (this may change in the future).
