Automatic Discord translation for multilingual communities

BabelBot is a Discord translation bot for multilingual servers. It detects the source language of eligible messages and translates them into the target languages your server chooses. The catalog covers 130+ languages, while each plan sets how many target languages one server can enable. Members keep chatting in Discord, and one server plan covers every member.

Start guided setup

Get your first translation in about two minutes

You need Manage Server, and BabelBot must be installed on the server rather than only on your user account.

1. Add BabelBot to your server.
2. Choose at least one target language.
3. Choose replies or threads.
4. Send a short test message in another language.

Guided setup checks that the first translation arrives. You can change languages, delivery, and channel rules later in the dashboard.

Choose how translations appear

• Replies keep translated text beside the source message. They fit quieter channels and smaller language sets.
• Threads group translations in a Discord thread so the main channel feed stays readable.
• Channel bridges connect pairs or hubs of language-specific channels. BabelBot translates between them, mirrors attachments, and keeps supported edits, source deletions, and reactions in sync for 30 days.
• Per-channel rules can change target languages, delivery, source-language skips, and flag reactions, or turn automatic translation off in staff, log, or bot channels.

BabelBot records AI usage only when it posts a translation. Skipped messages and failure notices do not consume quota.

Translate on demand and in more places

Members can react with a supported country flag after an admin enables flag translation. They can also right-click a message and choose Translate Text or Detect Language.

The user-installed app makes those message actions available in DMs, private channels, and servers without a server-wide BabelBot installation. It does not enable automatic server translation. Admins can also whitelist selected bots when they need BabelBot to translate another bot's messages or rich embeds.

Add media, terminology, or live voice when needed

• Media translation on Pro, Ultra, and Founder Access handles supported PDFs up to 50 MB, images, video attachments, and audio files when an admin enables it and AI capacity is available.
• Custom words on Pro and higher keep server names, game terms, brand names, and community slang consistent. Custom words use AI translation.
• Live voice chat translation on Ultra and Founder Access joins a voice channel and posts translated text in that channel's chat. It does not provide spoken dubbing. One voice session can run per server, and it does not use the normal message translation quota. Sessions last up to four hours, stop after 30 quiet minutes, and BabelBot does not keep voice recordings.

Plans and limits

• Free: Up to 2 target languages and 1 bridge connection. New servers get 100 AI translations, then 50 per UTC calendar month. An attributed Top.gg vote adds 100 AI translations once.
• Pro (€9.99/month): Up to 5 target languages and 5 bridge connections, media translation, 25 custom words, and 5,000 AI translations per month.
• Ultra (€19.99/month): Up to 10 target languages, unlimited bridge connections with up to 25 spokes per hub, media translation, 100 custom words, live voice chat translation, and 25,000 AI translations per month.
• Founder Access (€199 one time): One server with up to 10 target languages, unlimited bridge connections, media translation, 100 custom words, live voice chat translation, and unlimited AI translations.

On Free, Pro, and Ultra, supported plain text without attachments can continue through the Custom BabelBot Translation Model after AI capacity runs out. Languages marked AI only, flag reactions, message actions, custom words, and media translation still need AI capacity.

Message data and admin control

Automatic AI translation can use up to five recent human text messages from the same channel or thread for context. BabelBot keeps this recent context for up to 15 minutes and does not pull older Discord history. Translation features can send the current message, recent context, and relevant attachment content to external AI providers when needed.

Admins can disable translation by channel, skip source languages their community already understands, or add members to Ignored users. Read the Privacy Policy and Subprocessors and Data Details for current processing and retention details.
