🛰️ It's a bird... It's a plane... It's ISSBot!

Astronomy hobbyists, radioamateurs, future astronauts... the bot you have been waiting for so long has finally arrived!

ISSBot lets you track satellites, especially the International Space Station, and provides you with various information about the current missions onboard and the next scheduled rocket launches.
It will even send you a notification when your favourite satellite is above your head!

ISSBot's tools will help you plan your next stargazing adventure, by letting you measure the level of light pollution in your area for example.

But no need to own a premium grade telescope to use ISSBot, you can enjoy the magnificent view of nebulae, planets and distant galaxies with a selection of over 10000 pictures freshly fetched from NASA's and ESA's databases.

So wait no more! Add ISSBot to your server and start a fascinating journey among satellites and celestial wonders!

Commands

ISSBot has some original and unique commands to get information about space and satellites, especially the International Space Station!

They include:
  • astros

This simple command displays information about the astronauts currently on the ISS.
More info is available about each astronaut with the syntax: >>astros astronaut_name

  • mission

This command displays informations about the current ongoing mission, and the mission's insigna.

  • coord

This command displays a real time map of where the ISS is.
Other satellites can be tracked, like the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) or Elon Musk's Starlink satellites, with the syntax: >>coord satellite_name

  • nextPass [address]

This command calculates the next pass of the ISS (or other satellites) over a specified location.
It will also let you set an alarm to be notified via a private message 5 minutes the chosen satellite is visible from your area!

  • nextlaunch

With this command you can stay up to date with the rocket launches schedule of several space agencies.

  • lightPollution [address]

A dark sky is often necessary to observe stars and galaxies properly.
This command lets you evaluate the quality of your sky based on the level of light pollution.

The bot is still under development and some commands will be added soon.
You can trigger ISSBot's commands with a mention, so there is no risk of a collision with other bots!
