AstraMaster

AstraMaster (also written "Astra Master") is a Discord security bot. It protects servers from nukes, raids and spam, and includes anti-nuke, quarantine, automod, moderation commands, backups, logging and a web dashboard. Its systems are modular, so you can turn on only what you need and configure each one separately.

Getting started

1. Add AstraMaster and move its role to the very top of your role list. Quarantine, Buster Call, restoration and backups all depend on this. If the bot role is not at the top, the setup wizard skips the Quarantine step.
2. Run b2!setup (Server Owner only). It runs four steps in order: enables Anti-Nuke and creates a first backup, checks the bot role and enables Quarantine, enables Automod, and asks you to choose a log channel. The owner gets a confirmation DM.
3. Run b2!whitelist and add your trusted admins and trusted bots to the Anti-Nuke Whitelist. Then review the channel and user exemptions for Automod.

Please do step 3. Whitelists are not retroactive, and any admin who is not on the list can be flagged and banned if they trigger a threshold, even if they are legitimate. If you skip whitelist setup, the bot may punish innocent users.

You can also run setup from the web dashboard. It covers everything b2!setup does, plus per-filter whitelists, quarantine role management, bot role management, and Shogun's Guard, a join gate that kicks unverified bots, very young accounts, accounts with no avatar, bots asking for dangerous permissions, and accounts with suspiciously long names. Only the server owner can run the web setup wizard.

Anti-nuke

Anti-nuke watches for mass destructive actions and is separate from the Quarantine system, so you can enable it at any time. It triggers when one person performs 3 of the same action within a short window:

When a threshold is hit:

• The person responsible is banned immediately.
• The server is restored automatically from the latest backup.
• An alert goes to your log channel, if you set one.

Commands: b2!antinuke (shows status, or enables it if it's off), b2!antinuke disable, and /antinuke. Server Owner only. When you enable it, AstraMaster takes a backup immediately and then one every day.

Whitelisting works differently here than in the other modules. Anti-nuke only uses a global whitelist. Per-action or per-channel whitelists do not apply to it. There is also a second layer of protection: even people who are whitelisted for specific actions can still be flagged if they exceed the thresholds. To do bulk work without being flagged, add the user or role to the Anti-Nuke Whitelist.

If a nuke attempt is detected and a restoration is running, don't make changes. Let it finish.

Backup and restore

• b2!backup creates a backup right now and sends the file (JSON) to the server owner by DM. Extra Owners and the Owner can run it.
• b2!restore restores a server from a backup. Attach the JSON file the bot sent you. It recreates channels, roles and permissions. Owner only.
• Automatic backups run every day while Anti-nuke is on, and are used for the automatic restore after a nuke.
• Backups are delivered by DM, so the server owner's DMs must be open. If the bot can't deliver the latest backup, backups for that server can be affected, and that can stop a successful restore after an attack.
• Backup files must not be shared, sold or reused on another server. The Terms treat that as unauthorized use.

Quarantine

Quarantine takes away a member's ability to send messages in every channel by giving them a restricted role. When you enable it, AstraMaster creates the quarantine role and syncs it to all existing channels.

• /quarantine enables the system (Owner).
• b2!quarantine @user places a member in quarantine.
• b2!quarantine remove @user releases them.
• /add-quarantine and /remove-quarantine are the slash equivalents.

The Quarantine Whitelist is selective, so you can exempt specific actions: channel creation, channel deletion, mass ping, role creation, role deletion, role permission changes, webhook creation, ban, kick, giving roles (dangerous permissions only), adding bots, server updates, channel edits and category edits.

Automod

Automod runs all the time and acts on violations without anyone stepping in. Open the panel with b2!automod or /automod (Owner, Trusted Moderator or Extra Owner) and switch each filter on or off.

Filters: swear blocking, GIF blocking (non-Tenor sources), link blocking, spam blocking, external apps protection (spam sent by external applications), and mass ping protection.

From the dashboard you can tune the swear, GIF, link, external apps and mass ping filters:

• Base timeout: how long a first offense is timed out.
• Max multiplier: how much longer the timeout gets each time the same person repeats.
• Reset window: how long someone has to stay clean before their level goes back down.

Spam blocking is on or off only for now. Every change is logged, and you can reset any filter to its default timing. Each filter has its own whitelist page, and being exempt from one filter doesn't exempt you from the others.

Emergency and permission tools

• Buster Call (b2!buster-call): removes dangerous permissions from all roles server-wide, and DMs affected members. It is for an attack that is happening or about to happen. b2!rewoke-call restores the permissions removed by the most recent Buster Call, and only for roles it affected. Server Owner or Extra Owner.
• Strip (b2!strip @user): removes dangerous permissions from one person only. b2!unstrip @user restores what the latest strip removed. Owner, Extra Owner or Trusted Moderator.

Logs

b2!logs #channel (Server Owner) sends moderation events to that channel. Run it again with a different channel to move it, or use b2!logs remove to stop. Logged events: timeouts, role changes, bans, kicks, whitelist updates, backups, quarantines and anti-nuke alerts. Logs only cover actions taken through the bot (its commands and its own automatic actions). Actions done directly in Discord are not logged.

Access levels

• Server Owner: everything, including setup, anti-nuke, restore, logs and the manage panel.
• Extra Owner: Buster Call, backup, automod, quarantine, whitelist, strip, timeout, role, ban, kick and the manage panel.
• Trusted Moderator: automod, quarantine, strip, timeout, role, ban and kick.

Manage access with b2!manage. Since 11 July 2026, roles can no longer be added as Extra Owners or Trusted Moderators, only individual users, and any roles added earlier were removed. Giving someone Extra Owner or Trusted Mod access is a real risk, because they can be used to take over a server. Only give it to people you fully trust.

Good to know

• AstraMaster's role should sit above all others so every feature works at full capability.
• Prefix and slash commands both exist, but not every feature has both.
• Data stored: Discord user IDs, guild IDs and names, channel and role IDs, backup snapshots and moderation logs. It does not collect message content, real names, emails or payment details, and it does not sell or share data. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
• You must be at least 13 to use it, in line with Discord's rules.
• AstraMaster does not guarantee that restorations will be complete or error-free, or that the service will always be available.
