Just a few clicks, and Aiko is ready to be your custom AI assistant in discord.
Aiko is a custom AI assistant that lives inside your Discord server. With just a few clicks, Aiko is ready to help your community.
There are three ways to start a conversation with Aiko:
| Method | Usage | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Slash Command | /aiko <prompt> |
Always works; not affected by blacklist/whitelist. Sends an ephemeral reminder when quota is exhausted. |
| Reply to Aiko | Reply to Aiko's message | Traces back up the reply chain for up to 5 messages as conversation history. |
| Mention Aiko | @Aiko |
Same as slash command, but carries no chat history. |
Server administrators can turn mention and reply responses off, or restrict them to selected channels. This does not disable
/aiko.If the slash command isn't working, check that the Use Application Commands permission is ON for that channel.
Aiko can retain durable personal facts that help future conversations, such as your role, stable preferences, timezone, or an ongoing project. Memories are isolated by user and Discord server.
Auto Capture: Triggered each time a question is answered. Aiko analyzes whether the message contains facts about the user and saves them if so. Content must be between 12 and 600 characters; suspected keys, passwords, and repeated content are rejected. Each user has a 5-minute cooldown (applied even if nothing is saved). Can be toggled via /user → Memory (default: on).
Manual Capture: Right-click a message → Apps → Aiko → Add to Memory. Only works on messages you sent yourself or messages Aiko replied to you with.
Delete: /user → Memory → Manage → choose a memory to delete.
Limits: Free tier allows up to 8 memories; Plus/Pro/Max allow up to 25.
Memory is for durable personal facts. Server rules, FAQs, and announcements belong in reference channels instead.
Aiko's tone is built in three layers: base personality → server persona → personal persona.
| Preset | Style |
|---|---|
| Friendly | Warm, upbeat, and encouraging; casual, welcoming tone |
| Professional | Polished and professional; no slang, no emoji |
| Playful | Playful and witty, light humor, occasional kaomoji |
| Concise | Fewest words possible, skips pleasantries |
| Support | Patient, empathetic; reassures first, then step-by-step help |
Server Persona (/settings → Persona): Sets the baseline tone for everyone in the server. Available on every plan, including Free. Choose a preset or write a custom persona (up to 1500 characters). Typing clear, reset, none, or off resets to the base personality.
Personal Persona (/user → Persona): Applies only to you, layered on top of the server persona. Available on Plus/Pro/Max only. Custom text must be 1–1500 characters. Isolated per user and per server.
Personas change tone, not facts. What Aiko knows is handled by memory; what she can answer is handled by reference material.
Reference material is Aiko's source of truth for server-specific questions — FAQs, rules, product info, announcements, and more. A server can combine three kinds at once.
/settings → Reference → Manage → Reference channels): Pick channels or a category. For each channel, Aiko reads up to 500 recent messages, keeps up to 40,000 characters (favoring newest content), and skips its own/empty messages. New messages trigger an automatic re-sync after ~15 seconds of inactivity. Submitting replaces the whole channel list (not additive).
/settings → Reference → Manage → Reference documents): Plain-text formats only (.txt, .md, .csv, .json, etc.). Uploading a file with the exact same name replaces its content — the only way to update one./settings → Reference → Manage → Document links): One URL per line. Each link is capped at 40,000 characters with a 20-second fetch timeout. All links must validate successfully or none from that submission are saved. This field is a full replacement list.Limits:
| Free | Plus / Pro / Max | |
|---|---|---|
| Reference document uploads | 1 | 10 |
| Reference document links | 1 | 3 |
Reference channels have no plan-based count limit — only the per-channel 500-message / 40,000-character caps. Changing reference material requires Discord's Manage Server permission.
Three independent optional modules (/settings → Manage next to Service Settings). Each requires the Manage Server permission.
Controls where Aiko answers @mentions and replies (does not affect /aiko). Three scope modes:
Automatically answers questions from non-staff members inside designated support-ticket categories using the server's reference material — no @mention needed.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Turns the assistant on/off server-wide. |
| Ticket categories | Every channel inside these categories counts as a ticket channel. |
| Staff roles | Members with these roles are never auto-answered; auto-answers pause while one is active. |
| Cooldown (seconds) | Minimum time between auto-answers in the same channel (0–3600). |
Stays silent when it can't help (staff active, on cooldown, nothing to answer with, or over quota). Requires reference material to be bound to the server.
Fast-path answers to common questions, instantly and for free, skipping the AI cascade — as long as the incoming question is a close paraphrase of a saved one. Exact wording never has to match; answers are shown exactly as written.
A FAQ match shows the header FAQ found, the matched Q&A verbatim, and a Confidence: N% footer. FAQ matching runs before every real question (@mention,
/aiko, ticket assistant).
User quota is a fairness cap that limits how much of the server's monthly credit allowance any single member can use, so one person can't use it all up.
Setup: /settings → Usage → Manage next to User Quota.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Default user quota (%) | Max share of monthly credits each member may use. -1 for unlimited, or 1–100. |
| Roles with a different quota | Pick roles that should get a different cap. Optional. |
| Override quota (%) for those roles | The cap applied to picked roles. |
-1 (unlimited), 1–100 (percentage), or 0 (removes the override). When a member hits their quota:
| Path | What they see |
|---|---|
/aiko |
Ephemeral reply — visible only to them. |
| @mention / reply | Public reply in the channel. |
| Ticket assistant | Completely silent. |
Changing quota settings requires Discord's Manage Server permission.
Every server runs on one of four plans.
| Feature | Free | Plus | Pro | Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly credits | 50 | 250 | 600 | 2,000 |
| Reference document uploads | 1 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
| Reference document links | 1 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
| Memory entries per member | 8 | 25 | 25 | 25 |
Personal persona (/user) |
❌ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
Server persona (/settings) |
✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
| FAQ entries (per server) | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 |
| Mentions | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
| Ticket assistant | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ | ✔️ |
Server persona, FAQ, mentions, and the ticket assistant work identically on every plan, including Free. The only member-facing plan gate is personal persona (Plus or higher).
What a credit is: Aiko's unit of AI usage. Every grounded answer on the /aiko, @mention, and ticket-assistant paths draws from the monthly balance. A FAQ match costs nothing. Credits reset every 30 days.
Check the current plan: Run /user (top line shows Plan: <tier>) or /settings → Usage.
Change the plan: Visit Ko-fi → /settings → Plan → Link → enter your purchase email. Your plan updates instantly after payment.
Too lazy to read the docs? Just ask Aiko:
/about <your question here>
For example: /about how to setup reference?
This command costs AI credits.
