Discord RPG
A simple yet fun Discord bot that invites an RPG-like experience to your server. It allows users to fight, forage, train and more!
The game has three main stats (power, speed and strength) that can be trained with stamina. Stamina regenerates
every so often and can also be regained by drinking potions. The main three stats are:
- Power: this influences the damage you deal.
- Speed: this determines who get's to strike in a battle. Overpowering in speed means overpowering in overall strikes dealt.
- Strength: though it gives a bit of damage, it mainly serves as how many damage you can take without losing health.
Defeating monsters gives XP, which in turn levels you up. You gain a bit of extra health when you level up, and you'll receive more stats from training.
For a quick overview of early-steps, commands, and more, use the r!help 2 command.
Getting Started
To get started, invite the bot to your server with permissions to read and send messages (that's all!). In order to begin your journey,
first create your character with r!create "name" (replace "name" with your name of choice without the quotes!). After that,
type r!profile. Then waste all your stamina however you desire -- buffing yourself up to fight stronger monsters,
or slay those weak enough.
Training
To train a stat, type r!train "stat" "amount". Replace "stat" with the stat you want to train (power, speed or strength) and "amount" with the amount.
A valid example would be: r!train power 5.
The amount the receive from training scales with your level. For example, a level 300 player would receive three times more from training than a level 1.
Hunting
To start hunting you first need to know what monsters you can hunt. Type r!monsters to see a list of monsters based on your level.
This will also show the monster's stats. A new player will always be able to beat the first monster, the slime. To hunt a monster, type
r!hunt "monster" "amount". Replace "monster" with the monster's name and "amount" with how many times you want to hunt it.
A valid example would be: r!hunt slime 2. From hunting you receive gold and XP. Gold is only useful after level 50, but XP is very useful from the beginning.
You level up when you receive enough XP to go to the next level. You'll get more health based on your level and you'll receive more from training.
Foraging
Foraging is a sort of minigame, but still very useful. You can forage 20 times per day. To forage, type r!forage "amount" and replace "amount" with how many times you want to forage.
A valid example would be: r!forage 8. New players can level up from foraging, and find potions. Potions are a substitute for training. This means, using
1 power potion would be the equivalent of training power once. Stamina potions regenerate your stamina by 2 points.
After level 50 you can also find accessory crates from foraging. More on crates later.
Equipment & Crates
Equipment and crates are unlocked at level 50. Every stat has a corresponding piece of equipment: weapons give power, accessories give speed and armours give strength.
Weapon and armour crates can be bought while accessories are only found in the shop or as crates during foraging. Every crate gives an item of a random rarity tier.
The tiers are: common, uncommon, rare, epic and legendary. The quality of the equipment scales with its rarity. If you get a legendary item from a crate, you'll also receive a divine boost:
every stat is boosted with +100 and +5% permanently. Crates are opened automatically if bought or found, and you'll automatically equip the strongest piece of equipment.
To buy a crate, type r!crate "item" "amount" and replace "item" with the piece of equipment (weapon or armour) and "amount" with how many crates you want to buy.
A valid example would be: r!crate weapon 6. To just see information (price, stat range, crate explanation) type r!crate.
Shop
To avoid having to solely rely on RNG for equipment, there's also a shop. The shop refreshes every day and offers items based on your level.
Items in the shop cost gold based on the equipment's tier. However, legendaries can't be found here, and the shop can be expensive sometimes. It's better to only rely on the shop
if you find a really good offer. To see what the shop has to offer, type r!shop. To buy something type r!buy "shopID" and replace "shopID" with the item's shop ID (listed in the shop).
Commands
For a complete list of commands, type r!commands.
