Movr | Discord Message Relocation Utility
Movr is a high-performance utility bot built to keep servers organized and conversations in the right place. Designed for streamers, community managers, and moderation teams, Movr relocates messages — including between separate Discord servers — while preserving the full context of the original conversation.
Key Functionalities
When a message is deleted or a user is asked to repost in another channel, the flow of a conversation is typically lost. Movr addresses this by faithfully recreating the original discussion, in full, in its new location.
- Cross-Server Relocation: Manage more than one Discord server? Movr can move a conversation from one server directly into another — a capability most message-relocation bots do not offer.
- Identity Mirroring: Movr does not simply copy plain text. Using webhook integration, it reproduces the original author's name, avatar, formatting, message reactions, and stickers in the destination channel.
- No Additional Commands to Learn: Movr operates entirely through Discord's native Apps context menu. No slash commands or prefixes are required — right-click a message to begin.
- Bulk Relocation: Move multiple messages at once using presets (1, 5, or 10) or a custom amount up to 100, with progress tracked throughout the operation.
- Attached Thread Handling: If the selected message has a thread attached, Movr moves the thread's contents along with it automatically.
- Reversible Actions: Every move includes a 30-second window to undo the action and restore the original messages, in case the wrong message or destination was selected.
- Per-Server Audit Logging: Server administrators can designate a channel to receive a log of all move activity, including who performed each action, how many messages were involved, and where they were sent. This feature is opt-in and configured independently per server.
How It Works
- Right-click the first message of the conversation to be relocated.
- Open the Apps menu and select Move Messages (or Move Cross-Server to relocate into a different server).
- Select a destination channel and specify how many subsequent messages to include (1, 5, 10, or a custom amount), then confirm.
Movr handles the remainder of the process automatically — recreating the conversation in the destination channel with original formatting intact, and removing the messages from their original location.
Setup: Discord Role Hierarchy
For Movr to operate correctly across a server, it must be granted the appropriate role position relative to other roles. This is a requirement of how Discord's permission system works, not an optional configuration step.

- Open Server Settings and navigate to the Roles tab.
- Locate the drag handle next to the Movr role (highlighted in red).
- Move the Movr role to the top of the role list (highlighted in green), above general user roles, streamer roles, and any secondary bots.
Note: Discord does not permit a bot to manage, delete, or replicate messages sent by a user whose role is positioned above the bot's own role. Keeping Movr at the top of the role list ensures consistent functionality across all channels.
