!quotebothelp to show the help information.
Quote Emoji Use
!setquotebotprefix and the Emoji you want to use to quote messages with reactions (for example:
!setquotebothelp 💬 would set the emoji to 💬). This also works for server and global emojies.
Enable/Disable Direct Quotes Use
!disabledirectquotes to enable or disable Direct Quotes (see more about that below).
Use > as a prefix and the complete message to quote it (not case sensitive)
To quote "This is a test message":
> This is a test message
If you want to quote a complete message with a part of it, use >>. The latest message that contains your quote message is quoted.
To quote the message "This is a test message" with "test message", you would use:
>> test message
You can also react with the emoji to quote a message (Default is 💬). You must have Send Messages privileges to quote a message.
If you only want to quote a part of the message, use >>> and the part of the message you want to quote.
To quote "test" of the message "This is a test message", you would use:
You can also quote longer parts of a message by using a start and an end word (the first appearance is selected), using |-| as a delimiter. Please note that the search words are case sensitive.
To quote "This is a test" of the message "This is a test message", you would use:
section> This |-| test*
You can quote a message by using id> and the ID of the message you want to quote.
To respond to a quote, quote the message as described above and use r> and your answer to respond! :)
If you want to respond to a message with "This is my answer", you would use:
r> This is my answer
to answer to the latest quoted message. You have 60 seconds to respond to a quote.
Sometimes, you want to respond to an answer without using a prefix when you type in your answer.
If you enable Direct Quoting (see Commands above), the next message you send after you quoted something is automatically used as the response!
For now, this only works when quoting with Reactions, other quote methods will be supported soon.
If you enabled Direct Quotes and want to quote without adding a response, simply send
> to quote without a response.
Messages from Bots and Messages starting with one of our prefixes are ignored to prevent quoting failed quote attempts.
When quoting with reactions, a rate limit of 5 seconds or 10 messages since the last quote is enforced to prevent spamming channels over the reactions.
QuoteBot requires the following permissions to work:
