Betterinvites allows you to manage the members of your server by looking at their invites.

For support and feature requests join our discord server: https://discord.gg/jTHxrnj

IMPORTANT: Due to the way discord handles invites, it is not possible to find out who invited people that are already in your server. It only works for people who join AFTER you add the InviteManager to your server.

Setup / Getting started

Simply invite the BetterInvites Bot to your server and grant the necessary permissions.

Also make sure that the bot has write access to any channel where he needs to reply and check if link embeds are enabled for the best experience.

Once the bot is working, you can customize its setting. For more info do !help config or check the FAQ section below.

This is a list of frequently asked questions.

How do I change the prefix of the bot?

Right now, you can't. Maybe, later there will be an Option to do it. The default prefix is i+

How do I set join and leave messages?

Set the channel by doing i+config set joinChannel #channel or i+config set leaveChannel #channel. After doing that, new joins and leaves will be posted to that channel.

Can I customize the join and leave messages?

Absolutely! You can change the message by doing for example i+config set joinMessage {memberMention} **joined**; Invited by **{inviterName}** (**{numInvites}** invites) or i+config set leaveMessage {memberName} **left**; Invited by **{inviterName}**. The following placeholders are available:

join leave example description
{{memberName}} yes yes Techsider The name of the member that joined.
{{memberMention}} yes no @Techsider The mention of the member that just joined. (Ping)
{{inviterName}} yes yes Peter The name the inviter.
{{inviterMention}} yes yes @Peter The mention of the inviter. (Ping)
{{numInvites}} yes yes 2 Number of invites the inviter has in total.
{{memberCount}} yes yes 45 Number of total members in the server.

What are "Ranks" and how can I use them?

Ranks are used to assign roles to people when they reach a certain amount of invites. For example. if you have a role called @Beginner and you want people who have 5 or more invites to be added to that role, you would have to create a rank for that like so: !addrank @Beginner 5. As soon as someone has 5 invites, he will automatically be added to that role!

How can I disable the bot in all but one/some channels?

Take away the read message permissions in the channels where you don't want the bot to reply.

If the bot does not work as expected, please make sure it has all the permissions it needs. It needs to be able to post to the channel where you are executing a command and ideally you also have "link embeds" enabled on your server. If the bot is still not working correctly, please contact the developer. Support Server
