Writer-Bot is a discord bot for writing-based servers.
It has many features, such as writing sprints, word count goals, xp/levels, prompts and random generators.
Writing-related commands
!ask: Asks you a random question about your character or your world, to get the creative juices flowing.
!challenge: Generates a random writing challenge for you. e.g. "Write 400 words in 15 minutes". You can add the flags "easy", "normal", "hard", "hardcore", or "insane" to choose a pre-set wpm, or add your chosen wpm as the flag, or you can specify a time instead by adding a the time in minutes, prefixed with a "t", e.g. "t15"
!event: Create server-wide writing events and compete against your fellow writers to see who can write the most
!generate: Random generator for various things (character names, place names, land names, book titles, story ideas). Define the type of item you wanted generated and then optionally, the amount of items to generate.
!goal: Sets a daily goal which resets every 24 hours
!project: Using these commands, you can create different projects and store word counts against them seperately. They also integrate with the wrote and sprint commands. See the help information for those commands for more info.
!sprint: Write with your friends and see who can write the most in the time limit!
!wrote: Add to your total words written statistic
Fun commands
!8ball: Ask the magic 8-ball a question. Your question will be routed to a text-processing AI and broken down into character sets, in order to properly analyze the content of the question and provide a meaningful answer.
!flip: Flips a coin
!quote: Gives you random motivational quote
!reassure: Gives you reassurance/motivation
!roll: Rolls a dice between 1-6, or 1 and a specified number
!xp: Checks your server Experience Points and Level. Use the "top" flag to see the top 10 on this server.
Utility Commands
!profile: Displays your user statistics
!about: Shows bot information and status
!patch: Shows the latest patch notes for the bot
!reset: Allows you to reset your stats
!mysetting: Allows you to set user configuration values, such as your timezone
!setting: Allows users with the (MANAGE_MESSAGES) permission on the server, to change configuration values
!help: Display help information about the bot and its commands
!invite: Generates an invite link to invite the bot to another server
!ping: Ping the bot to check the latency
!todo: View the current TODO list for the bot development
For further information about any of the commands, run !help <command>, e.g. !help event or !help sprint

This is definitely my favorite writing bot available for discord. I love having all my projects in one place and being able to set goals. It's fairly consistent with being online, once in a blue moon it'll go off for a few minutes but that's about it. Overall reliable and very useful bot.

This is a great bot for writing. It combines so many projects, goals, sprinting, and other great commands. This will be a great addition to my server. The only thing I would like to be able to do is to view other users projects or goals. In an effort to hold each other accountable and to maintain positive momentum, it would be good to be able to view progress and send encouragement or support if ...

Sorry I don't recommend it. Some commands require "!" and some don't, which makes it confusing to use. Some commands just straight up do not work. Numbers aren't considered numbers by the bot, thereby making recording word counts useless. Other writing bots are much more intuitive/consistent than this.

Every other slash command is failing. Even with no changes in how the command is entered. It is literally every other command and I can't pinpoint any changes to work around that or to change results (I wasn't planning on bug tracing outside of work) Before slash commands this bot was consistently awesome until NaNoWriMo overloaded it with simultaneous commands (edited)

The new slash commands are a mess to use, they make it complicated to type what you need quickly, and they're mixed up with other bots commands. Very disappointing.

Why can we add to our total word count, but not remove? :/ if we mistype it literally fucks everything up. please add a remove feature. i swear there used to be one before the update.

It writes prompts and does really good, but I don't get the reassurance to work and it always shows the error that the user couldn't be found.

Easy to use and super simple. It's doesn't have a lot of commands but that only makes it easier to use. It's good for keeping track of your projects and has some fun commands as well.
